Practitioners

The next decade of senior practitioner work is being built here.

Decision Intelligence is the structural shift Gartner has named as one of the most consequential changes in how businesses will be run over the next decade. Zero Fog is the firm building the practitioner path inside that shift. If you've done diagnostic-grade work and seen the limits of how it's been done, this is the firm building what comes next.

Why this matters

Senior practitioner work is changing structurally — not incrementally.

For fifty years, strategic execution consulting ran on a leverage model: senior partners scoping work, junior practitioners executing it, frameworks approximating where evidence was unavailable. That model produced real value — and it's also why most of the work has been done in fog, with capability constraints and causal architectures inferred rather than measured. Every practitioner who has done diagnostic work seriously has felt this gap.

Decision Intelligence changes the substrate underneath the work. Causal models become installable. Capability frameworks become measurable. Benchmarks become continuous. Confidence becomes quantifiable. The work that legacy consulting staffed with junior practitioners and weeks of analysis becomes work that senior practitioners do directly, with substrate-grade analytical infrastructure underneath them.

That shift produces a structural question for senior practitioners: which firms are building this future, and which are riding out the model that's ending? Zero Fog is in the first category — not because we claim it, but because the substrate is built, the methodology is codified, and the practitioner model is operational. Senior practitioners who want to spend the next decade doing diagnostic-grade work with the analytical infrastructure that finally matches the ambition of the work have a real path here.

Three paths

How senior practitioners associate with Zero Fog.

Senior practitioner association at Zero Fog isn't a single track. Three paths exist; each is real, each is selective, each has its own commitment shape. What unifies them is commitment to running diagnostic work on the SEI substrate with peer-grade collaboration — regardless of the financial structure.

Path 01 · Engagement Partnership Most active path

Senior practitioners brought in for specific engagements.

Senior practitioners with sector expertise or situational specialty brought in for specific diagnostic or cycle engagements where the match warrants it. Peer-grade collaboration on real diagnostic work, with substrate access, no employment relationship, engagement-based economics.

This is the most active path on any given month. We bring in the right practitioner when the right situation surfaces. Most engagements are run end-to-end by one or two senior practitioners with Rejoyce substrate support — not by teams.

Path 02 · Practice Extension Conversation-by-conversation

Senior practitioners running adjacent or specialized practices.

Senior practitioners running their own practices — sector-specialized, function-specialized, or geography-specialized — who want to operate on the SEI substrate without rebuilding the analytical infrastructure themselves. Methodology adherence, Rejoyce platform access, brand alignment, peer practitioner collaboration when situations cross between practices.

This path is currently selective and handled conversation-by-conversation. The firm is open to the right practitioner with the right practice and the right alignment. Not a productized partnership program — a real relationship that starts with a real conversation.

Path 03 · Partnership Track Selectively open

Senior practitioners bringing their own book to run inside Zero Fog.

Senior practitioners who bring their own book of business and want to run it under Zero Fog — with full substrate, methodology, brand, and peer practitioner collaboration. Traditional professional-services partnership: revenue-share economics, partner-level voice in firm direction, long-term commitment on both sides.

This is the rarest path by design. Partnership at this level requires sustained alignment on methodology, voice, and how the firm engages the market. The door is selectively open. The right conversation starts with reaching out and continues over time, not with a recruiting process.

Honest qualification

Who this is for, and who it isn't.

All three paths have the same underlying filter. The financial structure differs; the practitioner profile doesn't. What follows is the honest version of who we're looking for — and who we're not.

This is for
  • Senior practitioners with 15+ years of MBB, operating, PE, or comparable senior diagnostic work
  • Sector or situational expertise that's genuinely deep, not just touched
  • Comfort running diagnostic work end-to-end as an individual with substrate support, not through a team
  • Methodology alignment with SEI — willingness to run on Rejoyce rather than reinvent the analytical layer
  • Track record with diagnostic-grade analytical work, not just project management or program governance
  • Recognition that Decision Intelligence is structurally changing the work, not just adding tooling to it
This is not for
  • Practitioners looking for a W-2 senior role with associate and analyst support
  • Generalists building a career through breadth rather than depth
  • Practitioners committed to their own methodology who would rather adapt the substrate to their model than the other way around
  • Anyone seeking a fast-growth firm scaling through hiring rather than substrate
  • Project managers, change managers, or program managers — necessary roles, but not the work we run
  • Practitioners running the recruiting playbook — if you're applying to ten firms this quarter, we're not the tenth
